Smooth ride with unmistakable 1980s flair!
BODY OVERVIEW:
This 1986 Chrysler Le Baron Town & Country Convertible blends vintage charm with unmistakable '80s Americana. The iconic white exterior is accented by classic faux woodgrain paneling, faded in a few spots but still retaining that unmistakable wagon-on-a-convertible vibe that made these cars stand out. The paint shows a few age-related defects, but overall, the body presents well and offers the kind of character that only a true survivor can.
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW:
Finished in crisp white, the Le Baron still turns heads with its unique styling. While there are some minor blemishes and age-related imperfections, the paint retains a nice shine, and the contrast with the woodgrain trim is as eye-catching today as it was in 1986. The exterior isn't show-car perfect—but for fans of retro luxury, it’s got just the right amount of patina.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW:
Inside, this Mark Cross edition greets you with supple tan leather seating and two-tone door panels that were the height of luxury in the mid-’80s. The seats show expected wear but remain comfortable and intact, and the woodgrain dash trim still adds a touch of class. The overall feel is vintage Chrysler opulence—exactly what you’d expect from a premium trim level. Don’t let the mileage on the odometer fool you. In 2011, the car’s original dash stopped working and the owner at the time had Advanced Auto Electornics of Midlothian, VA replace the cluster. Due to the parts no longer being available they were forced to replace it with a working New Yorker cluster that was showing at the time 172,584 miles. We have the receipt from the work and the car fax backs up this jump in mileage. Its true mileage is approximately 90,500. But anyone looking closely would realize there’s no way this interior has seen 177k miles, it’s just too clean! .
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW:
Under the hood is Chrysler’s 2.2L turbocharged inline-four—an iconic little powerplant from the era of boost-happy '80s engineering. The automatic transmission shifts confidently, and the car drives just like a Le Baron should: relaxed, stylish, and surprisingly smooth. Mechanically, it’s a solid cruiser that’s ready to hit the road with the top down and the breeze in your hair.
WHAT YOU’LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR:
That unmistakable woodgrain + drop-top combo
Rare Mark Cross interior with upscale touches
Quirky, lovable 1980s personality
Great conversation piece and fun local cruiser
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR:
Faux woodgrain shows some fading—welcome to the ‘80s
Odometer doesn’t reflect actual mileage due to cluster swap
It’s not trying to be anything other than what it is—a time capsule
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING?
Nothing urgent—it’s ready to enjoy as-is, but a little cosmetic TLC could go a long way in taking it to the next level.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR?
This LeBaron is ideal for the enthusiast who loves automotive oddities, open-top cruising, and unmistakable ‘80s style. Whether you're adding it to a collection of rad-era rides or just want a fun weekend convertible that turns heads, this Town & Country delivers vintage charm with a turbocharged wink.
