BODY OVERVIEW: This Cutlass Supreme Brougham presents exactly as you’d hope from a low-mileage, one-owner G-body that has never been restored or modified. The body is straight and clean, with factory fit and finish still evident throughout. Minor aging and light corrosion on some exterior badging are present, consistent with age and long-term storage, but they do little to distract from the originality and overall presentation of this car. Stored in a concrete floor garage since 1990, there is some superficial corrosion present underneath the car on components that were not painted at the factory. The factory Brougham padded vinyl top is in excellent original condition. Overall, as an NC car since new, this thing is super clean!
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: The gray paint appears to be original and shows exactly as expected for a low-mileage vehicle. It retains a nice shine and uniform appearance, reinforcing the time-capsule feel. In true survivor form, it’s honest, well-preserved factory paint that tells the story of careful ownership and proper storage. Thanks to the low-mileage and long-term storage, imperfections are nearly nonexistent.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The gray cloth interior is outstanding and remarkably well preserved. Sitting behind the wheel of this Cutlass truly transports you right back to the 1980s! Seats, door panels, dash, and trim all present beautifully, consistent with a sub-25k-mile vehicle. Minor discoloration is present in some areas, as is the standard for 1980s plastic materials. Interior wear is very minimal, materials remain soft and clean, and the overall feel is unmistakably original, making this cabin a standout feature of the car. Buyers should note that the headliner is beginning to sag, as is common in GM vehicles of this era. Last, but certainly not least, factory options abound from the tilt column, to the power windows, to the cruise control and factory tape deck! Other features include rear defrost and power locks
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: This Cutlass is a running and driving vehicle, but it has been off the road since 1990 after being placed into long-term storage by its original owner, a car collector. As such, it would benefit from a general tune-up and recommissioning before regular use. Mechanically, the car starts, runs, and drives, but sensible preventive maintenance is recommended before doing any real driving. The 5.0L V8 is plenty adequate for a vehicle of this size, and the 3-speed automatic ensures effortless cruising. Mechanical features include power steering, power brakes, front disc brakes, and air conditioning.
WHAT YOU’LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR:
• True one-owner provenance with low miles
• Extensive original documentation
• Incredible originality throughout
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR:
• It has been in long-term storage and will need light recommissioning
• Gray on gray isn’t everyone’s favorite color combo
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING?: While it is currently running and driving, this Cutlass would benefit from new tires, a basic tune-up, and general servicing to fully enjoy it on the road–normal considerations for a vehicle that has been stored for decades. Buyers should note that the optional power antenna is not functioning correctly.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR?: This Oldsmobile is ideal for the collector or G-body enthusiast seeking a true survivor with documented one-owner history and exceptionally low miles. It’s perfect for someone who values originality over restoration and wants a genuine time capsule that would be equally at home in a collection, museum, or carefully driven and enjoyed. If you missed your chance to buy one new 40 years ago, this puppy would be a close second!
